the Federation’s monthly review, centralizes business news from individual exchanges, and also has a monthly statistical component with key data on members’ markets. This document provides a complete set of information devoted to the exchange industry, and is disseminated widely.

 

To facilitate the use of common administrative tools, the Secretariat organizes surveys on exchange costs and revenues, disclosure requirements, scope of financial data, and other business issues. The purpose is to establish a global reference base, against which members may judge their work.

 

Recent reports have established generally accepted principles of securities business conduct, formulated a recommendation with respect to corporate governance, derived a way to harmonize the effects of trading halts, and formalized best practices for securities clearing and settlement.
